The R&D Technology department is dedicated to researching and developing new technologies in the field of heat exchange for vehicles and industries. This area is also dedicated to the construction of custom radiators and heat exchangers.
Serving customers for over 50 years
The company's history began in the early 1960s when Giovanni Balsamo, father of current owner Gaetano Balsamo, opened a workshop with the goal of creating a small, excellent business to pass on to his son. In 1981, while still very young, he founded La Casa del Radiatore with a clear mission: to create a point of reference for vehicle maintenance workshops and transport companies, offering assistance for the repair and construction of radiators and heat exchangers throughout Italy. Over the following years, the company grew and developed. In 2011, the Industrial division was established and the company changed its name to CDR Italia. In 2021, CDR became an industrial company and a joint-stock company.

Training and certifications
CDR's heritage lies in its corporate principles and the people who implement them daily. Therefore, the professional and personal development of our resources is a key factor in the company's growth. Our organization comprises over 40 people, divided into areas with specific professional skills. CDR is, in effect, the sum of the value of each member of its staff. Training, certifications, and value creation through services: a constant investment over the years that has allowed the business to thrive. CDR obtained ISO 9001 certification in 2003. Today, the certification is compliant with the new UNI EN ISO 9001/2015 regulation. CDR technicians are certified with specialized qualifications as welders and brazers.
