Custom made racing radiators
Custom radiators like theracing car oil radiator, are essential for the race, especially for performance on the track, unfortunately cooling is one of the main causes of failure.
In fact, the increased heat is generated by the more horsepower the engine has. If the engine reaches around 85°C (185°F), it begins to lose power, and at 118°C (244.4°F), up to 6-7 HP are lost, with the risk of serious damage.
How does a racing car radiator work?
The radiator's job is to remove the heat used by the engine by means of the fluid that carries the heat from the radiator to the engine. The tubes/fins that carry the fluid through dissipate the heat.
In fact, let's think about radiators for road applications which are made to carry out their task taking into account the lowest possible costs and are certainly not made to withstand the stress of racing.
The tubes of a radiator are the primary source of cooling while the fins are the secondary one. However, we must not ignore the fact that the tubes are more expensive than the fins, therefore manufacturers tend to increase the number of fins and decrease the number of tubes. However, this is different for aluminum radiators where the reverse process is applied.
This is because a larger number of fins can compromise the radiator's performance. The more fins there are, the less space there is for dirt to pass through, making it difficult for the air passing through the radiator to cool properly.
Racing radiators for cars and motorcycles on the track
Another factor to consider is weight: racing radiators have tanks welded to the tubes and not sealed, a feature that makes the racing radiator very solid and capable of withstanding the stresses it is subjected to. Aluminum radiators are also much lighter than stock ones thanks to the use of lightweight material and the reduced number of fins.
How are racing radiators made?
The purpose of racing radiators is to offer greater dissipation, less weight, and less space. This optimizes engine performance for racing motorcycles.
Racing aluminum radiator
Being able to get a radiator to work well under extreme racing conditions is certainly not an easy task because standard radiators for motorcycles and cars are not designed to withstand the stresses of racing, not only in terms of robustness but also in terms of performance.
Handcrafted racing radiators are made by hand by expert craftsmen, just like tailors who make custom suits. This is an example to give you a good idea.
So, meticulous work is done on every single part and every detail of the process itself so that everything is truly perfect and assembly can take place as quickly as possible, especially in the garage.
This is only because through the use of an engine at maximum performance and efficiency, all its true power can be expressed and always in this way, all its quality can also be recognized in the various races and competitions.

Custom racing radiator design
THE'R&D Technology area, in addition to dealing with the research and development of new technologies in the field of heat exchange for vehicles and industries, is specifically dedicated to the creation of products based on samples or drawings.
We are also able toto rebuildracing radiators as a replica of the original.
